CATER Final Products Unveiled

Since the project launch in September 2006, CATER has been focusing on developing new tools for mass customization of vehicles, targeting the vehicle manufacturers, the marketing and sales people, as well as the end users, namely: a Citarasa Engineering system (emotional intent design concepts), a Web Based 3D Do-it-Yourself-Design system and VR Interfaces for both the customers & product planners, the MArK system and a reconfigaration system. Web- based demonstrations are available on the CATER website.

During its last year, and in parallel to its final event, CATER has proceeded with the evaluation of its modules, across 2 evaluation phases, the first of which leaded to a series of optimisations of the modules, from technical and Human Factor aspects. Users from both Europe and Asia, and representing all stakeholders of CATER, participated in the evaluation and provided valuable feedback for the CATER products improvement, before their commercialization and deployment phase. In parallel, technical validation of them has been conducted from the CATER development teams in order to diminish as far as possible, and at this prototype phase, the bugs of all sub-systems. User Acceptance and usability aspects have been positively rated during the Pilots, especially in the context of the 2nd evaluation phase and after the intermediate optimization held. In parallel to the evaluation activities and utilizing feedback from them, the exploitation plans of the CATER Consortium have been finalised, after a series of studies (SWOT, CBA/CEA, etc.) and reflected in the Consortium Exploitation Agreement.

All details can be found in the CATER project Final products document.
